SCOREBOARD
Columbus Clippers 13, Louisville Bats 2 - Statcast
Akron RubberDucks 9, Erie SeaWolves 6
Fort Wayne TinCaps 11, Lake County Captains 8
Lynchburg Hillcats 5, Salem Red Sox 2
HIGHLIGHTS
Kody Huff (C, Columbus): 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K - Huff’s fourth multi-hit game in his last five saw him turn the Clippers’ early lead into a blowout with his first homer of the season, a 108.3 MPH grand slam that would’ve traveled 402 feet onto the grass berm in left center if not for the fact the Huntington Park has netting in front of ALL of the seating. Add in a bases-loaded walk and an RBI single and you have the feature performance of a huge night in the org.

Will Wilson (3B, Columbus): 1-4, 3 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K - Wilson just continues to rake. His 109 MPH solo shot in the fifth extended his on-base streak to a staggering 13 games and increased his total bases against the Bats this week to 13 in 18 official at-bats. Even in a bandbox like the one at the corner of Neil and Nationwide, .333/.368/.722 with six RBI is a heck of a four-game stretch.
Kahlil Watson (LF, Akron): 2-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 K - After an 0-for-3 injury-delayed season debut in the series opener on Tuesday, Watson has shown some power against the Erie hurlers, doubling on Thursday and opening his home run account in his first multi-hit game of the season last night. This quick start is a promising sign regarding both his health and his bat.
Jonah Advincula (LF, Lake County): 3-4, 1 R, 1 SB - Advincula just keeps getting on base and advancing once he gets there. Yesterday’s three-hit performance, which saw him steal his eighth base and score his sixth run of the season, brought his slash line to .371/.489/.514. That’s a 1.003 OPS with only two doubles and one homer in 35 at-bats. This is starting to remind me of Will Brennan’s stint in Eastlake.
Wuilfredo Antunez (DH, Lake County): 1-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 3 K - Antunez opened his 2025 homer account in a big way with a three-run blast that extended his hit streak to four games and continued his now six-game season-opening streak of reaching safely when he has multiple plate appearances in a game.
Jose Devers (SS, Lake County): 2-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K - Devers made it back-to-back huge games in Fort Wayne last night with a pair of extra-base hits. Over the last two nights, Jose has amassed eleven total bases in ten at-bats, increasing his season OPS from .908 to 1.037 in the process (gotta love early season statistical volatility).
Alfonsin Rosario (CF, Lake County): 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K, 2 E - Rosario continued to feast on TinCap pitching last night, albeit only to the tune of three total bases instead of the four he recorded in each of his first two games of the series. Getting back to the early-season stat volatility issue, this impressive stretch had vaulted Alfonsin’s OPS from .755 to .930.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Will Brennan (CF, Columbus): 2-5, 2 R - Brennan’s pair of singles extended his org-leading on-base streak to 14 games.
Johnathan Rodriguez (LF, Columbus): 2-5, 2 R, 1 RBI, 2 K - After entering the week with a .167/.231/.167 slash, J-Rod has awoken from his offensive slumber, going 7-for-18 with two doubles, a homer, and three RBI against Louisville pitching.
Milan Tolentino (SS, Columbus): 2-5, 2 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K, 1 SB - Tolentino, who stole his fifth base of the 2025 campaign on Friday, topped the exit velo chart with a 111.7 MPH single in the fifth, good for fourth in all of Triple-A yesterday.
Ryan Webb (SP, Columbus): W (1-1), 5.1 IP, 2 H, 42 R (both earned), 2 BB, 6 K - Webb rebounded from allowing four runs in only three frames last Sunday with a solid showing in his longest outing of the year so far. While his four-seamer topped out at 93 and dipped into the 80s on occasion, Ryan made full use of his four-pitch arsenal to confound the Reds prospects at the plate.
Cooper Ingle (DH, Akron): 1-3, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 2 K - Ingle got the Akron scoring started with a two-run shot to center in the opening frame.
Jake Fox (CF, Akron): 2-4, 2 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI - On the other end, Fox capped off the RubberDuck scoring with his own two-run shot to center in the eighth - his first of the season.
Jorge Burgos (1B, Akron): 1-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K - Burgos’ third-inning solo shot to right field was his fifth homer and eighth extra-base hot out of eleven total hits so far this season (that’s a .465 ISO on top of a .256 average).
Trenton Denholm (RP, Akron): W (3-0), 4 IP, 5 H, 2 R (1 earned), 3 K, 1 HR allowed - Denholm was impressive in piggyback duty, keeping the SeaWolves from getting back into the contest in any serious way.
Kyle Dernedde (3B, Lake County): 1-3, 2 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB - Dernedde rebounded from a hitless Wednesday for his best performance yet in affiliated ball.
Johnny Tincher (C, Lake County): 2-3, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K - Tincher once again proves himself capable of the big game, but consistency remains elusive (seven of his eight total bases this season came either yesterday or last Sunday).
Tommy Hawke (LF, Lynchburg): 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 SB - Hawke stole yet another base on Friday, bringing his org-leading total to twelve.
Jose Pirela (RF, Lynchburg): 2-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 K, 2 SB - Speaking of stolen bases, Pirela nabbed a pair to double his season total in his second two-hit performance of the week in Salem, Va.
Ryan Cesarini (CF, Lynchburg): 2-5, 1 R, 1 K, 1 SB - Hopefully, this multi-hit night represents the start of a longer-term breakout from Ryan’s recent 2-for-18 slump.
Bennett Thompson (C, Lynchburg): 1-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K - Thompson’s leadoff double in the second was surprisingly the Hillcats’ lone extra-base hit of a five-run evening.
Rafe Schlesinger (SP, Lynchburg): ND, 4 IP, 5 H, 2 R (both earned), 1 BB, 1 HBP, 3 K, 1 Pickoff, 1 E - Schlesinger got a great night for the Hillcat started with his longest outing of the season, albeit one still not long enough to be eligible for the individual victory.
Austin Aldeano (RP, Lynchburg): W (1-0), 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K - Aldeano has not allowed an earned run in six innings after a disastrous non-complex debut (3 ER in only 0.2 IP on 4/6).
Connor Whittaker (RP, Lynchburg): S (1), 3 IP, 3 H, 2 K - Whittaker converted his first professional save opportunity with one of the three-inning variety.
