My old buddy Thomas Pannone threw an immaculate inning for Toronto today. Nine pitches, three strikeouts.

After watching the terrible play of our SS and 2nd baseman during this series I realized how spoiled we have become with the defense that Frankie and Jose/Kip have provided us.
Yikes, we have to get those guys back.

only 2 teams in action yesterday, and nothing was posted for Saturday games AND BA highlights only players in their preseason Top 30s so Karinchak continues not to be noticed.
CLE AAA Bradley, Bobby 1B 3 0 0 0 .235 BB (4)
CLE AAA Chang, Yu SS 4 0 0 0 .194
CLE AAA Haase, Eric C 4 1 1 2 .172 HR (2)
CLE HiA Gonzalez, Oscar LF 4 0 1 0 .356
CLE HiA Jones, Nolan 3B 4 0 1 0 .216 and his 4th error [this one throwing] No reason to stall on his shift to the outfield

I’d consider moving him to 1st base too. I don’t think Bradley will ever hit for a good enough average or get his walk to K ratio to where he will be a good major leaguer. And no other 1st base prospect in system.

Everyone is potentially a 1st baseman eventually since most of them are converted from some other position. They say Jones has a strong arm so could play RF but at least in the infield it's not a very accurate arm

BA Prospect Hot Sheet debuts for 2019.
18. Eli Morgan, RHP, Indians
Team: High Class A Lynchburg (Carolina)
Age: 23
Why He's Here: 2-0, 0.00, 2 GS, 11 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 15 SO.
The Scoop: After blitzing through the New York-Penn League and South Atlantic League, Morgan was solid but unspectacular last year at Lynchburg, which helps explain why he's back in the Carolina League after throwing 99.1 innings there last season. Morgan is showing he's ready for a bump to Double-A. In his first two starts, Morgan's changeup-heavy approach has been too much for the league's hitters. Morgan's changeup has plenty of deception and some late drop, which allows his 90-91 mph fastball to sneak by hitters as well. At his best, he'll trick righthanded hitters into taking fastballs on the outer edge of the plate because they've just swung through similarly placed changeups that dropped out of the zone. Morgan works quickly and aggressively attacks hitters, but he'll have to prove his fastball and slider are good enough to let the changeup continue to play at higher levels. (JJ)
[was not on their Tribe Top 30 this year after his late season fade]

Shoot and he's right handed too. Shift him to 1B/OF and get him up ASAP.

Well, he's hitting about 220 with Lynchburg, so I don't think he's ready for us or we're ready for him.

for that matter of our top position prospects besides Jones, no one is doing anything really exciting. Tyler Freeman has turned it on and will join the queue of talented middle infielders
In AAA: Chang is hitting 194, OPS 581. Bradley 235/OPS 821. Mercado 250/739. Rocchio is of course hanging out in Goodyear. Valera the same and he got hurt again, although not badly this time. Also waiting for short season ball are top 20 prospects Gabriel Rodriguez and Aaron Bracho, a couple more SS.
in AA: Ernie Clement , SS 136/336 Daniel Johnson 226/928
Lynchburg: Besides JOnes LF/RF Oscar Gonzalez 348/822 Kwan CF 366/866
Lake County: Tyler Freeman SS 300/832. Will Benson RF 276/900

Oscar Mercado made a a great leaping catch at the wall to rob some fool of a homer tonight.
Daniel Johnson been killing the ball last couple days in Akron after a slow start.

Oviedo is human. After two shutout starts, he does a Carrasco and leaves in the 1st inning, surrendering 6 runs

Columbus SS Ryan Flaherty did more in one game that stamets has done in 15: 2 doubles, 3 walks.
Is there any reason not to bring him and DFA the incomepetent?
