Uncle Dennis:

I am so glad to see you got out of that Charlotte ballpark unharmed. No mugging or beating? I hear the place is bad about that. And I heard the restrooms has more traces of the herpes virus than 50 Shades Of Grey books have at public libraries. Glad you are OK - - for now anyway.

I saw an interview with Carlos Gonzalez yesterday where he was raving about the Columbus ball park. I can't post videos here anymore or I'd post it for ya.

Best Tools in the Minors:'

Tyler Freeman is in the second five for "best hitter" but that's before he went 0-5 yesterday.
Aaron Civale at No 5 for best control
McKenzie in the second five for best breaking ball for his curveball
That's it for us

Chiang with game 2 start for the Clippers. Almost namesake Chang with a 2 run homer: that gives him 4 more total bases than Indians SS Eric Stamets has this season. Kipnis is playing 2nd for the Clippers. All in all their IF is more impressive today Cleveland's.

the confident veterans on Akron are down 2=0 in the first, their 27 year old starter Paulson is 4years older than Cleveland's starter and 1 year younger than our Cy Young candidate Trevor. Alert to Longo fans, he was off for the opener but starting in LF today.

Adam Scott, 4th rounder from the high quality 2018 draft is starting for Hillcats. I thought they were using him in the bullpen. had I known I could have picked him for my breakout guy, he was "under consideration" Lynchburg lineup looks kind of like Cleveland's: after the first 4 hitters the rest are barely worth keeping around.

The pitcher I went with, Raymond Burgos, is working tonight for Lake county. if they send him out in Game 2 means they must like him, too.
Keep an eye on Bo Naylor: first rounder is getting the boost to full season as a teenage catcher, which is pretty unusual. Hits a 2 run homer in the first. Tyler Freeman with his first Lake County hit and steals second.

He didn't have the Hillcats game posted when I last looked, but they won 3-0 today on the back of another great outing by Eli Morgan. 6 shutout innings, 1 hit, 6 K. ... Nolan Jones was 0-3

Civ is back from watching movies in Cleveland and watching fans stream to the ballpark

A whole bunch of really good starts by our Class A pitchers:

5 or 6 shutout innings each by Garza and Mejia and Morgan at Lynchburg. Oviedo and Burgos in Lake County

We're missing many of our top prospect pitchers with McKenzie, Civale, Sandlin and McCarty all sidelined.
And Hankins and Torres and Carlos Vargas remain in Goodyear

The remainder look great for the first run of starts.
