Browns gearing up for a new stadium. Meanwhile, the Bears will breaking ground on the site of Arlington race track. Supposed ro be domed for events other than football. Oh, forgot to mention that is a 5 minute drive, a 15-20 walk from our home. There goes the neighborhood. All entrances and exits go through Rolling meadows except for the commuter train which is next to the stadium grounds

Yippee!

The construction crrews already are tearing up the expressways to add additional lanes and widening all the ramps. What a mess!

Sucks to be us..

What if's. If Clase and Lopez are not suspended, do we not trade Clase and still make the playoffs? Or we trade him for something that is a legit hitter? Again will it be enough for us to get there? Or would even have any idea what we have an Halpin, Valera, DeLauter and Kayfus. Confirmation that Noel and Jones may be non-tendered or throw in on a trade?
What if MLB sees or finds nothing? Do the Guardians have a real sticky situation and will MLB Players Assoc actually be an ally. This is going to be an interesting off-season for sure.

Roster clearance opportunities; an article at the Plain Dealer that I can no longer listed a bunch of veterans who are eligiable for arbitation, but the team can choose not to make an offer and let them go as free agents.
So they'll offer a deal to Kwan.
And probably to Fry.
What about Brennan? Hasn't established much and he's coming off major surgery.
Hentges? Also on IL all season with a second injury complicating recovery from the first. He's been very helpful when healthy
Lively? Might not be a starting role for him but he certainly has been valuable part of the pitching staff
Festa? OK middle reliever; probably replaceable
Allard? OK at multiple roles. Same as Festa?
Nolan Jones? That's a no brainer I assume they're aiming to give him yet another chance?
Decisions depend in part of course on who and many to add to the 40 man roster this winter.

Can't imagine that they keep Nunez on the 40 man roster. Same with Will Wilson. And probablly Zack Kent
JRod? Had one big September day and that's about the sum of his career accomplishments.
Noel? Remains capable of hitting some homeruns, but OPS belong 500 is not sustainable.

Roster management deadlines:
Free agency begins the day after the World Series ends. 60-day IL expires; all are added back to the roster.
Qualifying offers by November 6; players decide by Nov 18 to accept or reject and become free agents
November 18 set 40 man rosters set for Rule 5 draft
November 21 "tender" deadline. [To whom does this apply?]
December 10 Rule 5 draft.

reviewing again the 40 man roster plus 60-day IL we have a total of 45 on the roster.
Obviously coming off are a few like reliever Krook and catcher Nunez. Thomas is a free agent. Aleman had a terrible year in AAA so I'd expect him to come off.
Won't think they'd give a spot to Kent. Means. Nikhazy had a bad season in AAA.
Vogt likes Wilson's ability to play lots of positions, but he certainly seems replaceable.

And if there's one guy I think we'd all like to see gone there's Nolan Jones and J Rod as well; for that matter Noel hardly seems to inspire confidence.

We could well open up space for more kids than are worth adding; could leave space for a Rule 5 pick of our own. And we'll hang on to some of the above for lack of our own options.

Jones being set free would surprise me but calling up DeLauter shocked me. Vogt really likes Valera. Noel and jRod only have a chance because they bat RH. I am starting to think that Kwan will be traded to open up LF for my power and a RH bat.

Personally I would like to see Noel get a chance somewhere in the majors to bat against RH and LH.

RH OFs have been a Cleveland deficit for ages now. None on the Columbus roster. Somewhat impressive Amed Rosario at Akron bats Right. The other 5 are all LH.
Not a single RH OF with Lake County; Jaison Chourio a top prospect who didn't do anything this summer other than walk is a switch hitter.
Finally Lynchburg had one RH OF bat, Aaron Walton, a 3rd round equivalent draft pick last summer.

I have read that Cleveland conciously concentrates on developing LH. Which is pretty evident.
