Mirabell did go to Columbus, along with pitchers Speer and Whitehouse. The Indians have this interesting approach of promoting the "organizational players" to fill gaps due to injuries and promotions rather than the more serious prospects. Some of these guys will play on 4 minor league teams in a season. So bizarrely, if a player is promoted more than one level it almost always that he is not a prospect.

You must have missed the post the other day, Civ. Pannone started a game and pitched 3 innings and then the game got suspended. Was supposed to be finished next day but then that got rained out too.

Not sure what will happen now. It makes a difference cause Pannone actually got touched up for runs before suspension. Wonder if they will still start from there when made up eventually? If so then runs will count. But for now his scoreless streak lives since it's not official yet I guess.

BA highlights from Tuesday:

Brady Aiken, lhp, Indians. Aiken got his first win in full-season ball Tuesday, pitching five solid innings as low Class A Lake County beat Great Lakes (Dodgers) 4-2. Aiken walked three in five innings, a huge improvement considering he has walked 28 in 34 innings overall. The two-time first-round pick, first overall in 2014, is 1-6, 4.50 overall.

Most of the following are pretty lousy. Which reflects the overall performance by our minor leaguers this spring.

CLE AA Bradley, Bobby 1B 2 0 0 0 .193

I nearly gave up a couple times on Papi but glad I didn't. Even when he was batting terribly, which has been most of his professional career I know, he still walked and got on base. He's a patient hitter with good approach. I just hope it's finally paying off and this is the new norm.

Actually it's the doubles total that disappointed me, not the homers. But those are nice AA numbers. The Eastern League is known as pitchers' league and a lot of decent Class A hitters die there. [Chang? Bradley?] With the Columbus outfield nearly devoid of actual AAA OFs, Papi should be heading down I-71 soon.
